Security checks before using credit card?

Steps to keep you Credit card safe from Misuse
credit card security

The credit card is a much maligned and revered instrument occupying space in everyone’s wallet. It can be misused easily by anyone if they have acess to you credit card details as with the growing market of online purchases it is very easy for a fraudster to misuse your card. It has many advantages and disadvantages both depending on how you use it, the security issues of owning and using a credit card need to be taken seriously.

STEP 1: Be careful with your personal information. Don’t share details like your official date of birth, mother’s maiden name amongst other such information. Don’t share your credit card number either. Especially don’t reply to phonecalls and emails supposedly from your bank or credit card company asking you to share your personal info.If anyone has access to the above information then they can easily change the details over phone and then can misuse your card without even you getting a alert.

STEP 2: Get your card swiped for billing in front of you. If you use your card a lot at petrol pumps or you dine out a lot, then preferably scratch out the CVV numbers (last three digits of the number on the reverse of your card). Memorise the CVV number for your transactions or note it down somewhere safe. One of the most common cases of credit card fraud is of petrol pump attendants and restaurant staff using the data on your card along with the CVV number even if they are themselves not indulging in such activities, they can very easily sell such data to fraudsters.

STEP 3: Use the transaction alert facility with your credit card company, so that you are aware the instant your card has been used for any transaction. A fraud can still be committed but you can atleast take corrective action immediately and avoid paying for charges not your own. Keep the credit card company helpline number saved on your phone and call them to check any discrepancy.

STEP 4: In fact you should go through your card statement in great detail the moment you get it and call the card company for any transaction or charges that you don’t understand or make. Preferably get online access to your credit card and keep checking it off and on to be sure only activity authorised by you is taking place.

STEP 5: Use only sites that are safe and legitimate, and that have a secure payment gateway that starts with ‘https’ and not ‘http’ this ensures that your data is being sent in an encrypted manner and hence is protected. Look for a locked padlock before going ahead with an online transaction. Do not use public computers for online shopping or transactions if in emergencies you have to use computers other than your own, then delete the cache information, don’t save passwords and use the screen keyboard to enter your passwords.

STEP 6: A credit card protection plan is an insurance cover against loss, theft and fraud of credit, debit, ATM, membership or loyalty cards. It makes sense, especially if you travel a lot, or need to entertain socially and professionally basically if the usage of your cards is high and by nature you are not very meticulous, careful or cautious.

If at any point of time your card is misused then you can always go in for a chargeback but this takes time and a lot of effort. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Apply online for PF transfer, withdrawals from July 1: EPFO

Over 50 million subscribers of the retirement fund body EPFO will be able to apply online for transfer and withdrawal of their provident fund from July 1, a move aimed at speedy settlement of claims.
"We have decided to set up a central clearance house which will be operational on July 1. This will enable subscribers to apply online for settlement of the withdrawal and transfer of funds claims," EPFO's Central Provident Fund Commissioner Anil Swarup told reporters at PHD conference.

"The biggest problem faced by the subscribers is transferring their accounts on change of job. This central clearance facility will expedite the process", he added.
The facility will enable subscribes to track online the status of their applications for transfer and withdrawals.
However, the EPFO's ambitious plan to provide permanent account number to all subscribers would be possible by early next year.
"It would be done in 8-10 months. Since the process of providing permanent account number to all subscribers will take time, we thought of setting up central clearance house first," he said.
Under the new system, the onus of verifying the details of the PF account from previous employers would be on the EPFO. At present, employees have to get their applications verified from their employers for settlement of claims.
"The onus of getting the detail of the PF account verified from employers would be on the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in the new online system for transfer and withdrawal claims," Swarup said.

How to Kill a Lion !!! The Banking Way

Banking Strategies
Proud to work in a bank !!!! check this out

Many people choose banking as their career option but a very less know how to tackle a situation so guys this is just a way a banking system frustrates you and so be aware of this and and move ahead towards a successful career.

Banking on the wrong bank

HSBC Method:

Hire a lion. Give him full rest & make him lazy,
Pay him more than his expectation, never ask him to do any work for six months,
after six months tell him that now you have to fulfill your yearly
target within six months otherwise u will be kicked out from the jungle.

Lion dies due to fear,
that if he loses this "lazy animals jungle", where he will go.

ICICI method:

Hire a lion.

Give him hell lot of work and pay him lower salary than his politically astute peers.
Restructure his job, position, boss, colleagues, designation, department, salary, location every 6 months.
Remove all lions above 40 from the organization by giving those VRS. If he kills 2 goats a day, give him target of killing 20 elephants a day, when there are just 10 elephants in the jungle.
Lion dies of exhaustion, overkill and restructuring.

HDFC method:

Hire a lion and ask him to meow like a cat.
Give him lots of ESOPs and grass to eat.

He will die eventually of hope and starvation.

Citibank method:

Hire the lion, make him take 14 tests and tell him that if he doesn't score 90% he will lose the job.
Ask him to extract 60 kg meat out of a 40kg goat.

Lion dies of the strain.

ABN AMRO method:

Hire the lion.
Give him high impossible targets and expect a premature delivery of these targets.
If the targets are delivered, clap for him in a town hall and if not delivered humiliate him regularly.

Lion either dies of excitement or starts behaving like Tom Hanks in Terminal.

StanChart method:

Hire a lion; motivate him to outshine other lions in the jungle.
Load him with impractical targets and if he finds the prey, ensure jackals in the jungle snatch the prey and

the lion dies in oblivion......

Kotak method:

Hire a lion; load him with targets to focus on value instead of volume. Every quarter change the style and make his life miserable.
If he survives in the system reward him with a hefty bonus.

RBI Method:

Hire a lion and give him a 3000 page circular on how to kill a goat. Amend the circular at least three times a day.
Send him on inspection to the jungle, where he can threaten to cancel the hunting license of any fox, wolf, bear, jackal etc who have violated any provision of the 3000 page
circular.

Lion dies of boredom.

SBI Method:

Recruits a lion, gives him the power of mouse.
Lion dies of over expectation and no results.............

IDBI method:

Recruits a lion, Give him posting among cats.
People call him manager but he is actually a clerk.
Expect to work as allrounder.

Lion dies in frustration or escape to another jungle.

Deutsche Bank Method:

Hire a Lion. Tell him that you need to work most of the day ; half the night.
Also tell him that all the Lions in the jungle are doing it ; he shouldn't mind doing it. Tell him that the work he does would make him king, even though he would be paid like a pauper.
Change the look of the jungle twice in a year ; tell him there's a new challenge for him, although the animals  trees in the jungle remain the same (beats me.......what's the challenge).
Give the Lion some irrationally motivational talks ; tell him to wait till the grass turns blue in the jungle.
Lion dies waiting.

So best of Luck Guys!!!

Cheers !!!!!!

Valentine's Day !! What to Gift

Valentine day!!Will you be my valentine
Gifts and Surprises: These two words are sure to get your girlfriend excited any time of the day, at any given hour. While the words may get the her excited and enthusiastic, the wrong choice of gift and/or surprise will cause her face to lose colour before you can begin to give any explanation.Like we all know most girls expect their partners to do something special for her.As tradition goes, it is important to give each other gifts as a way of expressing love.

Here are certain gifts which you can shower on your beloved.

1. Couple Spa Date

'Women are predictable!' is what men said when asked what gifts you'd give your girlfriend. A very debatable statement, but an extremely safe gift choice. Women LOVE Spa. Arrange a Date Spa evening and she won't stop smiling. This is a great way to relax, enjoy each others company and flirt with intimacy.

2. Girls Night Out

This one is surely an unusual gift choice, but one that will get you into her best books asap. Sponsoring and organizing a finely planned night out for her and her besties will show her how much you care for her and the girls who matter to her the most. It does not have to extravagant, a simple fair can seal the deal and steal her heart.

3. A Perfect Date

If you can make the effort to plan an evening for her with her girlies, go the extra mile and plan the perfect Date with her. A date night, in the middle of the Arabian sea in a yacht. Add to that a romantic candle light dinner, soulful music, soothing wine and she will be swooning all over you before the date is anywhere near the end.

4.  Bags full of clothing

Hahaha! This one is surely a no-brainer. Clothes, accessories, shoes make a woman go CRAZY! Spurlge on her. If you know her choice well, pick some elegant and fashionable clothing for her from Zara, Vero Moda, Mango and the likes. If she is the fussy choosy types, escort her to these stores and pay the dutiful bag-holder and bill-payer. Women, at the end of the day, love to be pampered.

5. A branded watch/perfume

This is the staple gift to give when you can't think of anything to give. You can never go wrong with a  watch or a perfume unless you are a real douche! Don't buy her fakes or duplicates, she won't appreciate it, will never use them and might refuse to see you ever again. If you are short on money, buy an original Titan instead of going all out and fancy.

6. A smartphone / laptop

Most girls don't LOVE gadgets, but that does not mean they don't want to possess the latest one to use as a fashion accessory. Gift her an Apple iphone or a Blackberry or a Dell laptop even. Gifting an everyday essential item like this is safe, is sure to please her and gets her to not expect another gift for quite a while.

7. A weekend getaway

Every other human being is stressed today. With work, family, friends, social obligations you may find yourself to have very little time left to be with your girlfriend. If you and she are feeling this time crunch, plan an easy, comfortable weekend getaway. It doesn't have to be fancy, but surely can be romantic. A long drive, followed by a comfortable stay in a good hotel will uplift your and her spirits and bring you'll closer.

8. Flowers

They will be on top of any girl's wish list and and hence, logical for you to give her. Flowers are a great way of saying how much you love her and making her feel special. So go ahead and gift her a bunch of her favorite flowers.

9. Chocolates

Well, who doesn't like chocolates especially when it comes to girls. They are a great way of treating a girl to the finest taste. In return she might just rub off some extra sweetness into your remaining day.

10. Jewellery

As the saying goes, 'diamonds are a woman's best friend' and they're forever. Not that we're asking you to gift her one even if it burns out your bank account. You can gift her some classy jewelry and, in turn, see the sparkle on her face.

11. Candles

Soft and extremely romantic, candles can turn even the most boring girl into a romantic fool. Find candles which are well made paying attention to its craftsmanship. Gift her an entire set of candles which will hopefully light up your relationship.

12. Cosmetics

Every girl uses cosmetics in order to enhance her beauties and also hide her flaws. Gifting her cosmetics would show that you pay attention to all her minute details and hence make her feel delighted. Just pay attention to those little enhancements that adorn her face in order to gift her the right kind of cosmetics which she would be able to put to use.

Cheers!!!!

Disadvantages

Credit card Information leakages
When purchasing online many times you are required to punch in your credit card details and so there is a chance of your credit card information being shared and misused . Make sure you're cautious when you're using your credit card online.

Personal Information Misuse
Many times when you purchase online we have to enter many details like our address telephone number and other personal details and there are chances of this data being shared with others or compromised.

How to Overcome the above Disadvantages

Nowadays many online stores are providing a service of cash on delivery and so you have to pay only when the product is delivered to you and you are not required to use our credit card.

Be safe with your credit card online.
Don't click on email links from anyone pretending to be your bank, credit card company, or other business who uses your personal information, even if the email looks legitimate. These links are often phishing scams and the scammers want to trick you into entering your login information on their fake website.
Only enter your credit card number on secure websites that you can be 100% sure are legitimate. To be sure a website is secure, look for a lock in the lower right corner of your internet browser.

Shop only at sites you trust.

When you shop with your credit card online, only go to websites that you trust. Avoid clicking on email links because these links could take you to a fake website that's set up for the sole purpose of stealing your credit card information. Instead, go directly to the real website by typing the URL in your internet browser.

Don't make online credit card purchases from a public place.

Public computers and networks are less secure so there's a greater chance that your credit card information can be stolen when you use it on a public computer. These computers could have a key logger software that will capture all your keystrokes, including your login information and credit card number. Your credit card information can even be stolen when you use your personal laptop on a public wireless network.

Protect your computer from viruses and hackers.

Make sure your computer is protected from hackers that could send your internet browser to a fake website by loading the most recent anti-virus and anti-spyware software onto your computer.

Check with the Better Business Bureau.

If you're using your credit card online at a store you're not familiar with, check the Better Business Bureau for other consumer reports before entering your credit card information. Don't use your credit card at any website that has a poor customer service record with the Better Business Bureau.

Use a credit card online instead of a debit card.

Credit cards offer more protection against fraudulent charges than a debit card. With credit cards, your maximum liability for fraudulent charges is $50. However, with debit card fraud, you could be liable for up to $500. Not only that, if your debit card is compromised, you lose all the money in your checking account and it could take days to get back. Fraudulent credit card charges don't take anything from your pocket.

Make sure the credit card entry page is secure.

Only enter your credit card information on secure websites. You can check a website's security by checking the URL. On the page that you enter your credit card information, the URL in your browser's address bar should begin with "https://" and there should be a lock in the lower right corner.

Print your online credit card receipts.

When you use your credit card online, always print a copy of your receipt or confirmation. Then, compare the amount on your receipt to the amount on your billing statement to make sure the totals match.

Enjoy your shopping and be Safe

Cheers!!!

Heart Attack !!! Check out Early Warning Signs

 Prevent Heart Attack

How to read the warning signs and take precautions to prevent a heart attack

Whilst a heart attack can often be sudden and unannounced, most other times, the condition develops over a period of time. You can read the warning signs and take the necessary precautions if you pay heed. Do not Ignore this as it is better to be safe than sorry.

Here are 7 signs that can be taken as warning and could help avert a catastrophic situation:

1. Discomfort in the Chest

The most common warning sign of a heart attack is the feeling of discomfort or heaviness in the chest. This feeling could also be more of a burning sensation. Any of these symptoms should not be taken lightly, and if it occurs more than once, you need to rush to your doctor. If another person is complaining of the problem, chances are they have experienced the feeling before and are only expressing it now. So, rush them to the nearest doctor or hospital immediately for a check up.

2. Shortness of Breath

If your breathing gets heavy and the breath falls short even after a short walk, climb or other form of movement or exercise, it should be a huge cause of worry. Even if this condition is not accompanied with chest discomfort, it should be taken as a warning sign.

3. Sweating

Whilst sweating is inevitable in the scorching heat of May and June, excessive sweating even in cool conditions is uncalled for. If you notice such sweating, consult a medical professional immediately.

4. Nausea

Regularly feeling nauseous of dizzy could imply the onset of a heart attack. Do not treat is callously as a sign of tiredness. This could happen due to the artery getting blocked. It could also display itself via excessive stress, fatigue after short spans of movement or exercise, or a feeling of weakness despite eating and sleeping well.

5. Numbness in Arms

If your arms feel numb and seem to be drifting to the sides, heart problem may be the cause.

6. Unresponsiveness

If certain parts of your body begin to stop responding, do not ignore the circumstance. The affected parts may be the shoulders, arms or back of the neck.

7. Slurring while Speaking

Difficulty while speaking need not necessarily occur after a bout of drinking with the buddies. It could be a graver situation than that! Inability to speak coherently could be the sign of a great attack. If you think you are suffering this ask a friend or relative to help by asking them to understand what you are saying.
A heart attack can be avoided if the warning signs are read correctly and in time. Seek medical aid immediately if one or more of the above symptoms are noticed. They could be the result of a choked artery. Even if heart attack is not the result, a check up should definitely not be avoided!

Health is Wealth so do not ignore these signs and take immediate action

Cheers!!!

Money Fear !!! The Number game

Its All about Money !! Honey
Money Money Money

During my interaction with friends and colleagues I found that lot of people straight away equals money with Mathematics. Reason is numbers attached with both. So person who hate Mathematics obviously start to hate or fear about money matters too. This symptom is called “Fear of Money ”.

You may easily find such people who are some what careless about money matters. But it is actually not a careless issue, instead it is the issue of “Fear of Money”. Let us find out few examples which makes you clear. People with such fear have normally below mentioned symptoms.

1) Depending too much on others related to financial matters. That dependency may be with spouse, family members, friends or financial planners or advisers.
2) Neglect in tracking their bank transactions.
3) Readymade answers  to their illiteracy of finance.
4) Not tracking their monthly bills like credit card or phone bills.
5) Not having enough family protection measures like emergency funding or any insurance.
6) Extreme situations like over spending or over saving. Same way not at all thinking about  personal finance or too much worrying about finance.
7) Not have track on spending or earning. So no clue about their own net worth status.
From above lines you start to think that, such persons may be any of your family member or your friends who may have these symptoms. These small things will not make sense when everything is going smoothly. But if such small symptoms take the larger proportion of your financial life then it may actually spoil your financial life.
In a true sense Mathematics is not a mandatory thing to mange your money. It is your logical tactics to think about financial management and more important the study and research that will make you in a right path. If Mathematics was the thing needed to manage money then our ancestors would not be so expert in money matters than the today’s so called literates.  It requires financial literacy, which is lagging in today’s education.

Now the question is how to over come? Answer is once again “Financial Literacy”.

Spend some of your time doing research on various financial instruments and insurances before investment and if necessary seek professional advice. If your Investment grow it will be you who are becoming financially secure as well as your family members. Don't just blindly Invest or rely on others Advice as it is your money and you should know what you are investing in.Remember it is you who is investing and it will be you only who will get the benefits.

Opportunity and good timing plays a major role while Investing  so pick up each opportunity that comes your way at the right time.

"I will tell you how to become rich. Close the doors. Be fearful when others are greedy. Be greedy when others are fearful." - Warren Buffett

Save Money And One day Money Will Save You
